Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — Blaklee Brown went over the 100 strikeout milestone as Troy pulled away from Snyder County, 7-1, during Sectional Minors All-star softball action Friday.
Brown recorded all 18 outs for Troy - all strikeouts - as she hit triple digits for the all-star season.
Brown was also 3-for-3 from the plate with a double and a run scored, while Mya McClure went 1-for-2 with a triple, 2-RBI, and a run scored.
Snyder scored in the bottom of the first, but Troy came back with two runs in the second. It stayed 2-1 until the fourth, when Troy tacked on three more runs.
They added another two insurance runs in the fifth for the 6-run win.
Millie Pepper (1-for-1) scored twice, and had an RBI, as Marley Palmer (1-for-2), Remmi Weed, and Meredith Palmer all scored.
Blair Teribury (1-for-3), and Peyton Harkness (1-for-2) each had a hit with Lydia Blasz getting an RBI.
Troy guarantees themselves a top two finish as they face Jersey Shore on Saturday with a 2 p.m. start time, back at NEBall. If Troy wins they force a winner-take-all game Sunday, if Jersey Shore wins, they win the sectional crown.
