NTL VOLLEYBALL: TOWANDA SURVIVES TO TOP MOUNTAIN VIEW (2023-09-25)
Northern Tier Sports ReportKINGSLEY — Towanda survived a back and forth match with Mountain View, ultimately pulling out a 3-2 win over the Eagles during non-league action Monday.
Towanda won the first set 25-19, but Mountain View took the second 25-20. The Knights came back with a 25-12 win in the third set, but the Eagles held serve, getting a 25-21 win in the fourth set.
Towanda would come out victorious with a 15-9 fifth set win to claim the match.
Brooklyn Evans had nine kills, three blocks, five points, and seven digs for the Knights while Brynn Woodruff had 12 kills, 16 points, six aces, and seven digs.
Shay Greenland finished with four kills, six points, 10 digs, and 14 assists, as Karis Flynn had seven digs, nine assists, six points, and an ace.
Caedence Wells finished with 20 points, 11 aces, and five digs as Kaya Johnson had three digs, eight points, and six kills.
Layla Miller had seven digs, as Brynsen Vargason added a kill and a dig.
Alysa Dulaney notched a kill, a point, and an ace, with Lariah Long getting a dig.
The JV Knights powered their way to a 25-13 and 25-16 win over Mountain View.
Leila Cobb had 20 points, a kill, and a dig as Marlie Tuttle notched four points, two aces, and a dig.
Lilyann Sproule had a point, two kills, and an assist, with Alayna Rankin getting two assists, one kill, and one point.
Hannah Crawford had a point with an ace, Vargason had two points, a kill, and an ace, Long and Kylee Barnes each had a point with an ace, and Layla Longcoy chipped in with a dig.
Towanda (5-5) gets back to .500 with the win as they welcome the always tough Williamson Warriors to the court on Tuesday.
