NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TOWANDA BOYS EARN NTL LARGE SCHOOL SWEEP (2023-09-26)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — Towanda boys’ cross-country picked up two key NTL Large School wins on Tuesday.
The Knights defeated Athens (22-36) and defending champions CV (22-35) to stay undefeated in league action. CV edged Athens 24-26.
CV’s Kristian Mizdail (16:33) and Athens’ Graham Wanck (17:04) went 1-2 but Towanda took the next four spots with Eric McGee (18:10), Jack Tavani (18:13), Jacob Carr (18:19), and Wyatt Stranger (19:04).
Towanda’s final scorer, Sean Lauber (21:13), took 11th.
On the girls’ side Athens swept, beating Towanda (15-4) and CV (15-50). Towanda defeated CV 15-50, as well.
Athens went 1-2, led by Sara Bronson (21:24). Towanda’s first runner was seventh, Dixie Brown (26:01), with Angie Tavani (26:14) eighth. Noelle Rogers (26:47) took ninth, Gracie Carter (27:52) came in 10th, and Taylor Brennan (28:55) was 11th.
