NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: HALBFOERSTER EARNS WIN AS CANTON SWEEPS (2023-09-26)

CANTON — The Canton boys earned an NTL sweep in cross-country action Tuesday.

The Warriors defeated Wellsboro 22-37 and Sayre 23-37. Sayre edged out Wellsboro, 27-28.

On the girls’ side Wellsboro won 15-50 over Canton and Sayre.

Warrior Lawrence Halbfoerster (18:01) won the race, the first win of his career. Josh Hess (21:21) was fifth, Hunter Huffman (21:38) came in seventh, Brayden Vroman (22:24) was eighth, and Landon Lake (22:28) took ninth.

For the girls’ Wellsboro’s Lauren Kosek (20:22) won the race, while Canton’s Daveian Crowley (26:07) was second overall.

In the junior high race Canton’s Nick Weaver (10:44) was the second boy.
