NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: MAYNARD'S GOAL LEADS NEB PAST WYALUSING (2023-09-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — Lillie Maynard punched one in from 20-yards out and NEB made it stick as they got their biggest win of the season, 1-0, over Wyalusing in NTL girls’ soccer action Thursday.
“I am excited about the goal, but I am mostly proud of my team for working hard all 80 minutes with one sub,” Maynard said about her first goal of the season. “(I’m) especially proud of our keeper, (Leah) Beebe, for getting the shutout. Our whole team played an outstanding game.”
Maynard’s goal came in the first half.
Beebe had 21 saves on the day to get the clean sheet as Wyalusing out shot NEB 21-18. Sophia Alvarez had 13 saves in next for the Rams.
NEB (3-5) travel to Hughesville on Monday, while Wyalusing (9-4) hosts NP-Mansfield on Tuesday.
