NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: RUSSELL SCORES TWICE, BUT NEB FALLS TO WILLIAMSON (2023-10-16)

ROME — Katrina Russell had two goals but NEB came up short of the upset, falling 3-2 to Williamson during NTL girls’ soccer action Monday.

The match was tied 2-2 at one point, but the Warriors were able to get a final goal to sneak out of there with the win.

Mallorie Maynard and Melanie Shumway each had an assist for the Panthers.

Williamson had a 20-13 edge in shots, though NEB had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

NEB keeper Leah Beebe made 19 saves in net.

The Panthers will host Athens on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start.
