Northern Tier Sports Report
Two big wrestling matches highlight Tuesday with a full day of girls’ basketball, along with swimmers and divers returning to action.

WRESTLING

Athens (4-3) at Wyalusing (1-0), 7 p.m.: The Rams welcome Athens for their home opener, Tuesday. Wyalusing is coming off a season opening win over Tunkhannock while the Wildcats wrestled at the Line Mountain Duals last week, going 3-2.


Canton (5-0) at Towanda (3-2), 7 p.m.: The Warriors will put their undefeated record on the line as they travel to Towanda. Canton went 3-0 at their quad meet on Saturday while Towanda was 2-1 as they hosted the Flynn Duals.


GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

NP-Liberty (0-1) at NEB (3-2), 6 p.m.: The Panthers will look to bounce back from their loss against Towanda as they host the Mountaineers. NPL opened their season with a loss against Towanda last Saturday.


Towanda (3-0) at Troy (1-2), 6 p.m.: The Knights are fresh off their win over NEB on Monday as they hit the road again. Troy is also coming off a win, beating Williamson last week for their first of the year.


Williamson (1-4) at Canton (2-1), 6 p.m.: In the first go around Canton beat Williamson on the road, so expect them to be the favorites here. At 2-1 Canton actually leads the NTL Division-II standings as NEB is 3-2.


Wyalusing (1-1) at Wellsboro (0-1), 6 p.m.: The first of two match-ups between the two teams this week. The Rams are coming off a loss to NEB over the weekend while the Hornets fell to Athens. They meet again on Saturday in Wyalusing.


SWIMMING & DIVING

Towanda at Athens, 4:30 p.m.: The two teams met last week in a tri-meet with Shamokin as a virtual competitor. This time they’re up at Athens and its just the two of them.
