NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA WELCOMES NEW HEAD COACH, HANNAH DEACON (2023-11-20)

TOWANDA — There’s a new swimming and diving coach for Towanda, Hannah Deacon, and she’s excited to be at the helm for the Knights.

“I’m a little bit nervous, for the first time ever coaching a varsity team, but it feels good to be here, and be back in with the pool,” said Deacon. “Starting swimmers out and seeing where they can go at the end of the season.”

Deacon’s hoping to build the swimming programs, first by getting a little bit more numbers out on the teams.

“When I was a kid in school coach Locke came in and made a huge change in the program,” Deacon said. “I hope to maybe try to motivate some of the kids to come out for swimming and give it a try, see how it feels.”

With a little bit bigger numbers this year Towanda is looking to make some waves.
