PIAA RELEASES NEW GIRLS SPORTS CLASSIFICATIONS (2023-11-28)

Northern Tier Sports Report
The PIAA released their classifications for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 sports seasons, and, while there aren’t as many shake-ups as on the boys’ side, there will be some teams in different places.

NEB softball and volleyball both drop back down to Class 1A, while in cross-country, Warrior Run is back at Class 1A, making things more interesting there.

Wyalusing moves up to Class 3A in hoops, too.

-The PIAA changed the way they counted students this year, fully counting charter and vo-tech students in each school district.

- The number next to the team is what is being counted by the PIAA. It will change depending on if a school co-ops in that sport, but not others.
