NTL VOLLEYBALL: NEB'S NEUBER HEADLINES BRADFORD COUNTY VOLLEYBALL ALL-STARS (2023-12-01)

Northern Tier Sports Report
It was an exciting year for volleyball, and no more so than for Northeast Bradford, who had a historically good season. That shows with them getting four of the six major awards in the Bradford County Volleyball All-stars.

Emma Neuber did it all for NEB, with 179 kills, 203 digs, and 204 points to go with 52 aces as she led the Panthers to a league and district title. That makes Neuber the Player of the Year.

Her teammate Abby O’Connor had a strong season at the net, with 293 kills and an attacking percentage near 50-percent. That’s good enough for her to be the Offensive Player of the Year. She also had 32 blocks on the season.

Gabby Susanj had a career year for the Panthers, finishing with 569 assists on the season to push over 1,000 for her career. That makes her the Setter of the Year.

Coach Vanessa Perez led the Panthers to two historic milestones - their first league title and their first district title. That’s good for her and her staff to be the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Troy’s Aryana Andrus is the Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot, 4-inch middle hitter had a league high 63 blocks on the season while also getting 172 kills.

The Newcomer of the Year is Towanda’s Brooklyn Evans. The sophomore finished with 59 blocks, 109 kills, 122 digs, and 73 points on the year as part of a young nucleus for the Knights.

The first team consists of NEB’s Neuber, O’Connor, Susanj, Kiarra DeLancey, and Toni Herb, along with Troy’s Andrus, Kali Ayres, and Brenna Jackson.

The rest of the team is made up of Evans, Athens’ Ella Coyle, and Canton’s Kendall Kitchen.

On the second team are Troy’s Rachel Jackson and Josie Kerrick, Towanda’s Karis Flynn, Shay Greenland, and Brynn Woodruff, Athens’ Kassie Babcock and Keaton Wiles, Canton’s Chelsea Lehman and Addi Pepper, and Wyalusing’s Kylie Pickett and Gabby Manahan.

The All-newcomer team is made up of Evans and Flynn from Towanda, Wyalusing’s Pickett, Manahan, Emily Johns, Addison Fluck, and Madalyn Broschart, Canton’s Cailyn VanNoy, Vayda Bryan, and Makenna Seachrist, NEB’s Abby Chobot, Athens’ Regan McDaniel, and Troy’s Ali Bailey.
