NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST NPL FOR TOURNAMENT TITLE (2023-12-09)

MONTGOMERY — Northeast Bradford earned their first ever Kyle Lynn Memorial Tournament Championship in boys’ basketball action Saturday, beating NP-Liberty 57-30 in the title game.

Cooper Brown was named the tournament MVP with Cayden McPherson also earning all-tournament team honors.


McPherson had the big day on Saturday, going 5-for-11 for 13 points with seven rebounds, while Brown had six points, five boards, and three assists.


Eli Stanton was an efficient 4-for-4 for 10 points - including 2-for-2 from 3-point range - plus three steals, with Dillon Donnelly going 4-for-6 from deep for 12 points.


Josh Stanton had six points, three boards, three steals, and five assists, with Drew Beers getting six points, four boards, three assists, and three steals.


Will Herb added two points and five boards, while Tanner Herb had two points and three rebounds.


All in all NEB had nine 3-pointers on the day.


The Panthers jumped out to a 14-3 first quarter lead behind two 3-balls from Donnelly, and one out of Beers.


NEB hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter - two out of Stanton - as they extended their lead to 30-12 at half.


The offense opened up for both teams in the third, but the Panthers continued to pull away, outscoring the Mounties 22-12. Eight different players found the bottom of the net in the frame, led by four points from Brown and McPherson.


NEB won the JV game 44-27 with Tyler Thoman scoring 11 points.
