Wrestling in front of a hostile crowd inside of Rec Hall taking on the nation's best team in Penn State. Seymour got the call against former Pa wrestling standout Gary Steen. These two battled each other while in high school with Steen besting Seymour. Throughout the first period, Seymour was in on multiple shots with Steen fending them off. After a scoreless first period, Steen chose the bottom position.

Steen earned the escape to take a 1-0 lead. Heading into the third period trailing 1-0 Seymour chose the defensive position. Following the escape to tie the score up at 1.
