NTL WRESTLING: NEB DROPS MATCHES TO ATHENS, SAYRE (2021-01-21)

ATHENS — The Northeast Bradford wrestlers fell to Athens and Sayre in dual meet action on Thursday.

They lost to Sayre 18-15, but took both matches on the mat.

At 160 Jack Shumway edged Kaden Bennett 14-12 while at 215 Kenric Ricci pinned Glen Romberger in 1:01. 

NEB’s Kamden Ricci (285) also scored a forfeit win in the match.

For Sayre Kendrick Ross (106), Bobby Benjamin (145) and Aiden Reid (172) all won by forfeit.

There were no matches at the other weights.

The Panthers fell to Athens 63-6 as their one win was a Kenric Ricci (215) forfeit.

Shumway (152) lost 8-4 to Athens’ Chris Bathgate while Kamden Ricci (285) was pinned by Joshua Nittinger in 28 seconds.

For the Wildcats Joshua Courtney (113), Gavin Bradley (120), Mason Vanderpool (126), Jacob Courtney (132), Kaden Setzer (138), Lucas Forbes (145), Karter Rude (160), Zach Stafursky (172) and Collin Rosh (189) all won by forfeit.

NEB is slated to travel to Canton on Monday for matches against the Warriors and Hughesville.
