NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: IRISH NETS 23 BUT TOWANDA FALLS AT NP-MANSFIELD (2023-12-22)
Northern Tier Sports Report MANSFIELD — Teagan Irish netted 23 points but Towanda fell at NP-Mansfield, 62-49, during NTL Large School boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Tigers led just 12-7 after the first quarter but progressively pulled away as the game continued, led by Karson Dominick’s 27 points.
Gianni Assante-DiCupillo and Graham Welles had six points each for the Knights, as Landon Clark scored five. Connor Barnes and Bayley Poll both netted four while Darrius Farrell chipped in with one.
Down by five after the first quarter Irish went off for eight points in the second, while Poll hit a 3-pointer. However, NPM out scored by six points to take a 29-18 lead at the half.
Irish continued to score in the third, netting eight more points, Dominick had 12 for NPM, while Andy Hermansen hit three 3-balls to push NPM’s lead to 54-32.
In the fourth Towanda had four 3-pointers as they scored a game high 17 points.
