NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB USES BIG SECOND HALF TO DOWN WILLIAMSON (2021-01-22)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Northeast Bradford out scored Williamson 43-20 in the second half to pull away for a 70-41 win in NTL boys’ basketball action Friday.

Four different Panthers hit double figures, led by Lucas Crown, who had 17 points, five boards, five assists and four blocks.


Nick Beers added 16 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two assists while Dan Williams had 11 points, seven boards, six assists and three steals.


Dan Seeley chipped in with 10 points, six boards, three assists and three steals as Ethan Finch netted eight points to go with four boards, three assists and two steals.


Julian Jampo and Sam Abell had three points apiece while Joe Stanton netted two points. Jampo also had three boards and three assists, Abell had three rebounds and two assists and Stanton nabbed two steals.


NEB was active with the ball on both sides, handing out 27 assists and getting 16 steals.


Williamson hung tough with the Panther early on, down 18-12 after the first quarter. Crown and Beers paced NEB in the first eight minutes with six points each.


Both teams had nine points apiece in the second quarter to give NEB a 27-21 lead at the midway point.


In the third the flood gates opened as the Panthers hit four 3-pointers with Beers and Crown scoring five points each.


Then in the fourth quarter NEB’s balanced attack continued en route to 23 points. Beers, Crown, Williams and Seeley all had four points in the frame.


In the JV game NEB won 54-17 as Cayden McPherson led three Panthers in double figures with 15 points. Josh Stanton had 11 and Joey Bevacqua netted 10.


The Panthers improve to 2-4 and host Wellsboro next Tuesday as they work their way back to .500.
