NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: IRISH NETS 22 BUT TOWANDA FALLS AT CV (2024-01-03)

WESTFIELD — Teagan Irish netted a game high 22 points but Towanda fell, 45-43, to CV during NTL boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Knights found themselves down 34-29 going into the final frame. Irish went off for nine points but just couldn’t overcome the Indians.

Darrius Farrell and Markel Garner had eight points apiece, as Ben Shrawder scored three, and Connor Barnes added two.

Fletcher good and Jordan Vargeson had 10 points each for CV.

The Knights led 12-11 after the opening quarter thanks to six points from Irish. CV held Towanda to just seven in the second as they took a 25-19 lead at the half.

Farrell went off for six points in the third as the Knights cut the deficit to five points going into the fourth. 

In the final frame Vargeson scored seven of his team’s 11 points to pull out the win.

Towanda (2-7) will travel to Wyalusing (1-10) on Friday.
