NTL WRESTLING: CANTON'S HUDSON WARD 4TH AT MID-WINTER MAYHEM (2024-01-13)
Northern Tier Sports ReportINDIANA — Canton’s Hudson Ward finished fourth at IUP’s Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament on Saturday.
Ward (160) opened the day with a loss to Montgomery’s Conner Harer in the semifinals, but rebounded in the consolation semifinals with a 7-0 win over Greenville’s Rudy Gentile.
He ended the day with a 12-1 loss to Pitt-recruit, Bode Marlow of Thomas Jefferson.
It ends another strong tournament for Hudson, highlighted by a 5-4 win over 2-time state medalist, Jojo Przbycien of Fort LeBoeuf.
Holden Ward (145) lost 13-7 in the blood round to come up just short of the medals.
Canton was 28th with 62 points out of 57 teams, and the third District IV team behind Line Mountain (24th) and Montgomery (4th).
Canton will host Troy on Tuesday as part of a 4-match week: they have Sullivan County on Wednesday, NP-Liberty on Thursday, and end with Wyalusing, at home, on Saturday.
