TOWANDA JH GIRLS HOLD ON TO BEAT WELLSBORO (2024-01-14)

TOWANDA — Towanda junior high girls basketball took home a 28-24 win over Wellsboro. 

Natalyn Morris scored a clutch reverse layup and two free throws down the stretch while scoring six total.  Ali Hollett and Taylor Aquilio scored six each.  Maris Cobb hit two pressure free throws late in the game and scored five total.  Reese Sullivan scored three points and Kenzie Brown two points. 

Wellsboro got good production from their post players as Teagan Novinger scored nine and Ren Gehman scored eight points.  Ady Frantz scored four, Kate Bryant two, and Kya Lawton scored a point. 

Towanda captured a 20-10 win in the second game with a strong shooting performance from Kendal Cook who scored 11 points.  Lennon Rice scored four points with Molly Roberts and Mary Kate Eberlin scoring two points apiece.  Ily Benjamin sank a free throw for a point. 

For Wellsboro, Aileen Bowers, Rosa, Hailee Smith, Paityn Biery and Delaney Morral each scored two points.  

Towanda hosts Athens at the Towanda Elementary Gym at 6:30 PM on Monday, 1/15.
