TOWANDA JH GIRLS HOOPS TOPS ATHENS (2024-01-16)

Towanda junior high girls basketball took home a 45-27 win over Athens as they celebrated their 8th grade players on the night. 

Ali Hollett knocked down three from behind the arc for nine points and Taylor Aquilio also scored nine points. Mary Kate Eberlin scored eight, Reese Sullivan five, Lennon Rice four, and Maris Cobb three points. London Decker, Molly Roberts and Kenzie Vanderpool scored two points apiece. Kenzie Brown sank a free throw for a point. 

For Athens, Abby A. scored 10 points, Anndrea D. scored nine points, and Skylynn P scored eight points. 

Towanda captured a 34-1 win in the second game as Natalyn Morris led all scorers with 10 points. Lennon Rice and Kendal Cook scored eight points apiece. London Decker, Molly Roberts, Ily Benjamin and Kenzie Vanderpool scored two points apiece. 

Alissa scored a free throw for Athens. 

Towanda hosts Troy at the Towanda High School at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, 1/17.
