NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: IRISH LEADS TOWANDA OVER WILLIAMSON (2024-01-18)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — Teagan Irish had 25 points as nine different players scored for Towanda in their 60-34 win over Williamson in NTL boys’ basketball action Thursday.
Towanda jumped out to a 22-9 first quarter lead and never looked back.
After Irish Bayley Poll netted 10 for the Knights, with Markel Garner scoring seven.
Darrius Farrell netted five, Connor Barnes scored four, with Gianni Assante-DiCupillo and Graham Welles getting three points apiece. Ben Shrawder rounded things out with one point.
Kristian Mizdial led Williamson with 10 points.
Irish had nine first quarter points with Poll netting five to give the Knights their 13 point lead.
Irish went off for 12 points in the second as Towanda had 16 as a team to take a 38-14 lead at the half.
The offenses slowed down in the second half with Williamson out scoring Towanda 10-8 in the third behind eight points from Mizdail.
Towanda would hit three 3-balls in the fourth as Poll had five of his team’s 14 points.
Towanda (4-10) will travel to NEB on Tuesday.
