NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TROY USES BIG THIRD QUARTER TO PULL AWAY FROM WYALUSING (2024-01-25)

TROY — Troy used their defensive pressure to down Wyalusing, 59-19, during NTL boys’ basketball action Thursday.

The Trojans forced 26 turnovers, and won the rebounding battle 36-12, grabbing 20 offensive boards in the process, to get the win.


Colin Loveland had 12 points, six boards, five steals, and four assists to lead Troy, while Jack Burbage added 11 points and eight boards.


Lincoln Chimics had 11 points, as well, with Lance Heasley getting nine points and four rebounds.


Evan Woodward had seven points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals, with Joseph Frye netting four points and two steals.


Trevon Teribury had three points, and Jackson Taylor chipped in with two points, four boards, six assists, and four steals.


Trehnon Hugo had 10 points to lead the Rams, while Hunter House scored five. Zabiah Walton and Parker Petlock had two points each.


Loveland had the hot hand to start, netting eight points, while Burbage scored seven, as Troy built a 21-9 first quarter lead. House scored all five of his points in the first to lead the Rams.


Wyalusing slowed Troy’s offense some in the second, holding them to just 10 points in the quarter, with Woodward leading the Trojan effort with five.


The Rams, though, managed just points themselves, as Troy took a 31-11 lead at the half.


Troy then put the game away with a 21-4 third quarter as Chimics netted seven to lead Troy.


Troy (14-0) hosts NP-Mansfield on Tuesday for their whiteout, while Wyalusing (2-14) hosts Athens that same day.
