NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: BURBAGE LEADS TROY PAST CV (January 26, 2024)Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Troy jumped on CV early and never let up as they beat the Indians, 72-26, during NTL boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Trojans led 29-8 after the first quarter, and 55-16 at the half.
Jack Burbage had 25 points to lead the Trojans - 21 of them in the first half - to go with eight boards and six steals.
Colin Loveland added 13 points, six assists, and two steals, as Lincoln Chimics finished with 13 points.
Lance Heasley netted six points to go with seven boards and two steals, as Joseph Frye had five points and three steals.
Jackson Taylor had three points, four assists, and four steals, with Trevon Teribury hitting a 3-ball. Brendan Gilliland and Dylan Liberations had two points apiece.
Evan Woodward chipped in with five assists, and six steals.
Burbage had 15 of Troy’s 29 in the first quarter, while Chimics netted all 13 of his points in the second as they built a 39-point lead.
Loveland led the Trojans with seven points in the third as they out scored the Indians 11-5.
Troy (14-0) will stay busy, playing their third game in three days on Saturday as they travel to Williamson for a varsity only contest at 2:30 p.m.
