COLLEGE: WYALUSING GRAD, NICK WOODRUFF, RETURNS TO THE MAT (2024-01-29)
BY BRYAN SEYMOURNorthern Tier Sports ReportAnother weekend full of college wrestling has come and gone. This weekend we find Gavin Bradley and Castleton University wrestling at the Alvernia Duals. New Penn College transfer, Nick Woodruff, was at the John Reese Duals.
Castleton University and Bradley were at the Alvernia Duals this weekend where they faced off with Delaware Valley, Alvernia University, and Trinity. In the first dual Bradley would face off with Malik Asfour where he would win 10-7 in sudden victory. Castleton would win the dual 32-3. In the second dual versus Alvernia University, Bradley would square off with Keito Shaw where Bradley would win 4-1 in sudden victory. The team would once again win 25-14. In the third and final dual Castleton would face off with Trinity. In this match, Bradley would win by fall in 1:50 over Alexander Schaeublin. Castleton would win the last dual 47-5 to end the day 3-0.
The newest member of the Penn College Wildcats, Nick Woodruff would find action in a couple of extra matches against Ithaca and Oneonta. In both matches, Woodruff would win by bonus points. Exact results and wrestlers were unavailable at this time. In the last match, Woodruff would lose by medical forfeit to Jeremy Mazzella. Penn College as a team would go 0-3 losing to Oneonta 24-21, Wilkes 35-16, and Ithaca 30-19.
