Northern Tier Sports Report
College wrestling dual season is nearing an end. Over the weekend we had a couple local wrestlers on the mats. Sheldon Seymour and Lehigh hosted Princeton. While AJ Burkhart and Kent State hosted Kent State. Gavin Bradley and Castleton hosted Williams College.

In the Lehigh match versus Princeton, Sheldon Seymour would receive a forfeit to start the dual off. Lehigh would continue on their winning ways by winning the teams seventh straight dual meet by beating Princeton 31-6. Lehigh is now 7-3 on the season with one dual left.

Kent State and AJ Burkhart took on Central Michigan. Burkhart would square off with Chandler Amaker. Burkhart would end up winning the match by pin in 6:41. Kent State would lose the dual 25-15. Kent State has one more regular season dual before conference.

Castleton University hosted Williams College. Gavin Bradley would receive a forfeit to help lead Castleton to the win 42-5.

What’s next for our college wrestling? Bradley and Castleton have the NEWA Futures Invite and then the Division III Northeast Regional. Kent State and Burkhart host Cleveland State dual and then the MAC Conference tournament. Lehigh and Seymour will make the cross country trip to visit Arizona State before preparing for the EIWA Conference Tournament.
