NTL SOFTBALL: TOWANDA CAN'T GET THE BATS GOING IN LOSS TO NPL (2023-03-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLIBERTY — Towanda couldn’t get their offense going as they fell to the defending league champions, NP-Liberty, 4-0 in softball action Thursday.
The Mounties jumped out with a run in the bottom of the first, then pushed three more across in the third to get the win.
Mackenzie Tice tossed a 7-strikeout 3-hitter with one walk for NPL.
Caedence Wells (1-for-3) had a double for Towanda with Shay Greenland (1-for-3) and Payton Perry (1-for-3) also getting hits.
Greenland started, and took the loss, going 2 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, one walk, two hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.
Aleah Johnston pitched the final 3 2/3-innings with four strikeouts, four hits, and two walks.
Addie Smith (1-for-3) had a double with 3-RBI while Saige Lehman (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game.
Towanda (1-1) will host Wellsboro on Tuesday.
