NTL SOFTBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST FOREST CITY (2024-03-30)

FOREST CITY — NEB softball rolled to a 15-3 in five innings win over Forest City during non-league softball action Saturday.

The Panthers scored two in the first, then racked up seven more in the second. They added six more in the third, after which they got subs in.

Melanie Shumway (3-for-3) had a double, 2-RBI, and three runs scored for NEB with Kelsea Moore (3-for-4) driving in three runs.

Kiarra DeLancey (2-for-3) scored three times while adding 3-RBI with Alexis Corter (2-for-2) also crossing home.

Hannah Berger (1-for-2) and Toni Herb (1-for-3) each had an RBI with two runs scored as Orissa Gardner (1-for-3) also scored and drove in a run. Makenna Callear (1-for-4) scored twice with Jaylin Wheaton (1-for-4) also crossing home. Amelia Kapr scored a run, as well.

Moore got the win, going three innings to strike out six with one walk, one hit, and two runs while Callear went the final two innings, striking out four with one run, one hit, and one walk.

NEB (3-0) is slated to travel to Sayre on Tuesday.
