AOW: CANTON'S GARDNER, TROY'S RIDALL HAVE BIG WEEKS TO START THE SPRING SEASON (2024-03-31)

The first full week of spring sports proved to be exciting as every team finally got underway, with several individuals having memorable weeks.

For the boys Canton freshman Bailey Gardner didn’t waste anytime making a name for himself. In two big league wins this week he went 3-for-7 with a double, 3-RBI, and two runs scored, including a game winning hit over CV in the bottom of the ninth, earning him the Male Athlete of the Week honors.

On the girls’ side Troy’s Lauren Ridall helped the Trojans to a 2-0 week against divisional rivals, going 4-for-7 with a double, 3-RBI, and two runs scored. She pitched a shutout against Wyalusing, striking out seven, earning her the Female Athlete of the Week honors.
