COLLEGE: AREA GRADUATES COMPETING AT THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL (2024-04-03)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Spring sports at the collegiate level have started, too, with several area athletes shining on the diamond and track.

SOFTBALL

Troy grad Riley McClellan is starting for 6-14 Lock Haven. She’s batting .316 with a home run, a triple, 4-doubles, 11 runs scored and 6-RBI.


Towanda graduate Madalyn Maynard has been a regular for Penn State-Altoona this season, hitting .265 on the year with a .324 slugging percentage. She has two doubles, four runs scored, and 4-RBI for the 7-8 PSU-Altoona.


NEB grad Emily Susanj has been a regular for the 10-6 Misericordia Cougars. She is hitting .222 on the season with 10-RBI, and a home run.


Troy grad Lindsay Steele has started 14 games for Pitt-Bradford, with 57 2/3-innings pitched. She is 1-7 with 26 strikeouts, and a 6.07 ERA.


BASEBALL

Wyalusing grad Blake Morningstar has seen 12-innings of action for Wake Forest so far this season. He has 13 strikeouts against eight walks while giving up eight earned runs.


TRACK & FIELD

Wyalusing graduate Alex Patton has season bests of 1:52.03 in the 800 at the Stanford Invitational, and a 3:49.18 in the 1500 at the Spank Blasing Invitational.


Towanda graduate Blaze Wood has season bests of 21-feet, 9 1/2-inches in the shot put, and 75-feet, 9-inches in the javelin.
