AOW: CANTON'S HOLDEN WARD, TOWANDA'S WELLS LEAD THEIR TEAMS TO BIG WINS ON THE DIAMOND (2024-04-14)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWeather didn’t quite cooperate but more contests got in this past week with performances getting better and better.
On the boys’ side Canton’s Holden Ward continued to be the paragon of consistency as he helped the Warriors to a 3-1 week. He was 6-for-12 at the plate, with two doubles, 5-RBI, and six runs scored, while on the mound he got a big win over NP-Mansfield, and finished the week throwing five innings with six strikeouts, one earned run, and one hit to be the Male Athlete of the Week.
For the girls Caedence Wells had a memorable week in Towanda’s two wins. She was 5-for-7 from the plate with 5-RBI, including a home run against Canton, and the game winning RBI in their walk-off win over Elk Lake, earning her Female Athlete of the Week honors.
