NTL SOFTBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO HORSEHEADS (2024-04-16)

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. — Towanda dropped an 8-1 non-league softball game against Horseheads on Tuesday.

The Raiders scored four runs in the fourth and sixth innings, while the Knights got their run in the fifth.

Tae-Lynn Brabant (2-for-3) scored Towanda’s run with Brooklyn Evans (2-for-3) driving her in. Payton Perry (1-for-4), Aleah Johnson (1-for-3), and Brynsen Vargason (1-for-3) also had hits.

Shay Greenland got the start, and took the loss, going four innings with six strikeouts, no walks, five hits, and four runs, none of which were earned. Johnson went the final two innings with one strikeout, two walks, three hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.

Brabant led off the fifth with a single, then reached on an error off the bat of Layla Miller. Two batters later Evans used a 2-out single to drive her in for their lone run.

Towanda (3-3) travels to Athens on Thursday.
