BOYS' TENNIS: POLL WINS BUT TOWANDA FALLS TO WELLSBORO (2024-04-16)

TOWANDA — Towanda’s Bayley Poll won at first singles but the Knights fell to Wellsboro, 4-1, during NTL boys’ tennis action Tuesday.

Poll defeated Jacob Abadi 6-1, 6-2, but at second singles Hornet Luke Rothermel pulled out a 6-2, 6-2 win over Haven Poll.

At third singles Wellsboro’s Mason Brill held on for a 6-2, 7-5 win our Diego Oliver, while at first doubles Towanda’s team of Rian Hennessy and Matrix McCarter lost to Hayden Zuchowski and Jose Wheeler 6-4, 6-3.

Wellsboro’s second doubles team of Isaac Macias and Wyatt Roth won 6-0, 6-0 over Towanda’s Jameson Harkness and Robert Roof.

Towanda (3-5) will host CV on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start.
