NTL BASEBALL: WYALUSING ROLLS TO WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (2024-04-17)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing scored in every inning as they rolled past Williamson, 16-1, in four innings during NTL baseball action Tuesday.

The Rams had three in the first, two in the second, four in the third, and finished things off with seven in the fourth. The Warriors scored their run in the third.

CJ Carr (2-for-2) had a double, a triple, two runs scored, and 2-RBI with Kenny Mapes (2-for-3) getting a double with two runs scored, and 2-RBI.

Casey God (3-for-3) had a double with two runs scored, and 2-RBI out of the number nine slot as Trehnon Hugo (1-for-2) had a triple with two runs scored.

Nick Vanderpool (2-for-3) knocked in two runs while scoring one as Parker Petlock (1-for-1) had 2-RBI with a run scored. Nick Wheeler (1-for-1) drove in a run with Nick Salsman and Isaac Shaffer both scoring twice. House scored twice and drove in a run.

Carr got the win, going three innings with two strikeouts, three hits, two walks, and one earned run. Vanderpool went the final inning, striking out one with one walk.

Carr led off the first with a double then scored on a Vanderpool single. After Hugo was hit by a pitch Mapes doubled in Vanderpool for the 2-0 lead. A House would bring in Hugo on a sacrifice fly for the 3-0 advantage.

In the second God hit a 1-out single, then scored on Carr’s triple. Vanderpool drove Carr in with a hit to make it 5-0.

Mapes led off the third with a hit followed by Shaffer reaching on an error. House would get hit by a pitch to load the bases. 

Mapes would score on a wild pitch, then Petlock drove in Shaffer on a sacrifice fly to make it 7-1. After a walk to Salsman God doubled in House, then Carr brought in Salman with a sacrifice fly for the 9-1 score.

Hugo led off the big fourth with a triple, then scored on a wild pitch to Mapes. An error off the bat of Shaffer, followed by House getting hit by a pitch loaded things up again.

Mapes would score on an error, with Shaffer driven home on a Petlock hit. After a walk to Salsman God drove in House to make it 13-1.

A Kaeden Kusmierz sacrifice fly bought in Petlock for a 14-1 lead. Two batters later Salsman would score, then Wheeler brought in God to end the game.

Wyalusing (3-2) is at NP-Mansfield on Friday.
