NTL TRACK & FIELD: WYALUSING BOYS, GIRLS SECOND AT TRI-MEET (2024-04-18)

WELLSBORO — The Wyalusing girls and boys track and field teams both took second at an NTL tri-meet earlier this week.

The girls scored 63.5 points, behind Wellsboro (112.5) but ahead of Sayre (13), while the boys finished with 54 points, behind the Hornets (99) but in front of Sayre (36).


For the girls Wyalusing’s Aleta O’Connor (1:11.3) and Ashlyn Neiley (1:11.13) both went 2-3 in the 400. In the 800 Riley Porter (2:46.10) and Kassandra Kerin (2:48.50) went 2-3.


For the 1600 Alysha Botts (5:58.20) was second followed by teammate Porter (6:00.00). Laina Beebe (15:15.20) was second in the 3200 while Kira Allen (15:51) took third.


Makeznie Kitner (4-feet, 10-inches) was third in the high jump while Mia Wilcox (8-feet) won the pole vault. Kitner (13-feet, 10-inches) took second in the long jump with Wilcox (29-feet, 6 1/2-inches) second in the triple jump.


Gabrielle Palfreyman (28-feet, 8 1/2-inches) was second in the shot put followed by teammate Alissa Baldwin (27-feet, 8-inches). Adeline Sutton (76-feet, 8-inches) took second in the discus as Ruth Weaver (75-feet, 10-inches) was third.


For the boys Brayden Johnson (2:25) was second for the Rams with Ethan VanDerPool (5:31.70) third in the 1600.


Trennan Tewksbury (11:47.6) won the 3200 with James Rogan (17.20) second in the 110 hurdles. Jack Fischer (48.40) was third in the 300 hurdles.


Wyalusing’s foursome of John Heeman, Vanderpool, Landen Kaufmann, and Fischer won the 4x400 in 4:00.


The team of Heeman, Vanderpool, Kaufmann, and Johnson won the 4x800 in 9:30.20.


Dylan Johns won the high jump at 6-feet with Jonathan Earle taking the pole vault at 11-feet.


Joey Gonsauls (18-feet) and Zibiah Walton (17-feet, 4 3/4-inches) went 2-3 in the long jump. Walton would win the triple jump in 38-feet, 2-inches.


Josh Stoddard (135-feet, 6 1/2-inches) was third in the javelin.
