NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING STRIKES FIRST BUT ULTIMATELY FALLS TO UNDEFEATED NPL (2024-04-19)

MANSFIELD — Wyalusing softball struck first against undefeated NP-Liberty on Friday, but the Mounties ultimately pulled away for a 10-2 win in NTL action Friday.

The Rams led 2-0 after the top of the first but saw NPL tie the game up in the bottom half of the inning. 


The Mounties took the lead with a run in the third, then added two more in the fourth, and five more in the sixth.


Allie Liddick (2-for-3) had a double with an RBI for Wyalusing as Treanna Nickeson (1-for-3) scored a run and Kylie Pickett (1-for-3) also had a hit. Addison Fluck also had an RBI with Raelea Harvey crossing home.


Kylie Pickett got the start and takes the loss, going three innings with three strikeouts, two walks, four hits, and three runs.


Fluck pitched the final three innings, striking out three with three hits, four walks, and seven runs.


MaKenzie Tice struck out 10 in the win for the Mounties while allowing three hits, one walk, and two earned runs.


Nickeson led off the game with a hit, with Pickett reaching on a bunt two batters later. Nickeson would later score on a Fluck ground out for the 1-0 lead.


Liddick would bring in Harvey, running for Pickett, with a single.


Wyalusing (3-5) finishes up their busy week by traveling to Central Columbia Saturday with a 5 p.m. start.
