Northern Tier Sports Report
MANSFIELD — Wyalusing avenged an early season loss, pushing across a run in the sixth inning to edge NP-Mansfield, 4-3, during NTL baseball action Friday.

The Rams led 2-0 after the first only to watch the Tigers tie things up in the second. Both teams scored a run in the third, and the game stayed like that until the sixth.

In the deciding inning Parker Petlock hit a 2-out double on a 2-1 pitch, then scored on Casey God’s single, which won Wyalusing the game.

Petlock (3-for-3) and Trehnon Hugo (2-for-2) were both perfect from the plate. They each had doubles and a run scored while Hugo also drove in a run.

Nick Vanderpool (1-for-4) scored a run with Isaac Shaffer (1-for-3) and God (1-for-3) also getting hits. CJ Carr had their other run with Hunter House and Kenny Mapes each driving one in.

Hugo started, and went two innings with four strikeouts, four walks, four hits, and three earned runs.

House came on in five innings of relief to get the win, striking out four with two walks, one hit, and no runs.

In the first Carr led off with a walk, followed by Vanderpool getting a hit. Hugo then singled in Carr for a 1-0 lead.

After an out Shaffer drew a walk, setting up House’s ground out that scored Vanderpool for the 2-0 advantage.

After NP-Mansfield tied the game Hugo led off the third with a double, then scored on a Mapes sacrifice fly for a 3-2 lead.

Wyalusing would get out of a jam in the fifth thanks to a double play. In the final two innings House retired six of the seven batters he faced.

Wyalusing (4-2) will travel to the Central Columbia Tournament Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
