NTL SOFTBALL: TOWANDA FALLS AT SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT (2024-04-22)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Towanda softball dropped a non-league game to South Williamsport, 10-2, Monday.
The Mounties used three runs in the second and four in the third to go up 7-0. They would lead by as much as 9-0 when the Knights broke through with two runs in the sixth.
South would get one back in the bottom half of the inning for the 8-run win.
Brooklyn Evans went 3-for-4 with a run scored while Aleah Johnson was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Brynsen Vargason (1-for-3) and Tae-Lynn Brabant (1-for-3) both had hits.
Shaylee Greenland got the start, and the loss, going 2 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, two walks, six hits, and seven runs. Johnson went 3 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, no walks, six hits, and three runs.
In the sixth Evans led off with a hit followed by Johnson reaching on an error. After two outs Vargason brought in Evans, while Brabant would drive in Johnson.
Towanda (4-4) will host Wyalusing on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
