NTL BASEBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST WILLIAMSON (2024-04-23)

TIOGA — Northeast Bradford baseball won their third straight game, beating Williamson 10-2 during NTL action Tuesday.

They jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, then pulled away with four runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.


Ethan Hunsinger (2-for-2) scored and drove in a run as Gavin Puza (1-for-1) scored twice and had 2-RBI.


Eli Stanton (1-for-1) had a double and scored a run with Josh Stanton (1-for-5) knocking in two runs. Cayden McPherson (1-for-3) scored as Andrew Beers (1-for-1) scored and had an RBI.


Dillon Donnelly, Clay Wiggins, Kohen Hugo, and Tanner Judson all crossed home.


Hunsinger went the distance to get the win, striking out seven with two walks, four hits and one unearned run.


In the first NEB went with two as Wiggins drew a walk, followed by Hugo reaching on an error. Puza would bring both home on a 2-run single for the 2-0 lead.


The Warriors got one back in the bottom of the third, but in the fourth Puza led off with a walk, then scored two batters later on a Beers hit.


After a second out was made Hunsinger kept things going with a run scoring hit. Donnelly would walk, setting up Josh Stanton’s 2-run single for a 6-1 lead.


In the fifth after Puza walked and McPherson got a hit Puza would score on an error, followed by Judson driving in McPherson.


Judson later scored on a dropped third strike call to make it 9-1.


NEB’s final run came when Eli Stanton hit a 1-out double then scored on an error off the bat of the Josh Stanton for the 10-1 final.


NEB (8-3) will host Canton on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
