Northern Tier Sports Report
TIOGA JUNCTION — NEB gave up a big inning in the second as they fell to Williamson, 6-3, during NTL softball action Tuesday.

The game was tied 1-1 midway through the second when Williamson scored three to take a 4-1 lead.

They added a run in the third and fourth innings to go up 6-1. The Panthers would get one back in the sixth and seventh innings but couldn’t score anymore.

Hannah Berger (1-for-4) had a triple with a run scored as Kiarra DeLancey (1-for-4), Kelsea Moore (1-for-2), and Orissa Gardner (1-for-3) each had an RBI.

Toni Herb (1-for-3) and Makenna Callear (1-for-2) both scored, with Melanie Shumway (1-for-4) getting a hit.

Moore struck out 10 in the loss, allowing two walks, seven hits, and six runs.

After Williamson went up 1-0 in the bottom of the first NEB struck back with two outs in the top of the second.

Herb reached on an error, then Alexis Corter kept the rally going by reaching on an error, as well.

That set up Gardner’s RBI single to make it 1-1.

Williamson would extend their lead to five runs until the sixth as Berger led off with a triple. Moore would bring her home with a sacrifice fly to cut it to 6-2.

In the seventh Callear drew a 1-out walk, then scored on a 2-out DeLancey hit for the 6-3 final.

NEB (5-5) will host Canton on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
