NTL BOYS' TENNIS: TOWANDA DROPS A PAIR OF MATCHES AT SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT (2024-04-26)

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Towanda dropped a pair of matches at South Williamsport during non-league boys’ tennis action Thursday.

They lost the first match 3-1, then fell in the second match 4-1.

Towanda’s Bayley Poll won at first singles in the first match, beating Wyatt Robbins 6-1, 6-3.

At second singles Haven Poll lost 6-2, 6-1 to Kayvan Shams, while at third singles Diego Oliver fell 6-1, 6-2 to Luke Sanford.

In the doubles match Towanda’s team of Rian Hennessey and Matrix McCarty split with Lucas Bower and Landyn Gephart at first doubles, 7-5, 6-4. South Williamsport won the second doubles match by forfeit.

Bayley Poll won again at first singles in the second match, 6-4, 6-3, over Robbins, while Shams defeated Haven Poll 6-1, 6-1 at second singles. Sanford won 6-3, 6-3 over Olivier at third singles.

South’s Sawyer Fry and Dylan Webb edged Hennessey and McCarter 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles while Towanda forfeited second doubles.

Towanda (7-8) will host Muncy on Saturday at 11 a.m. for their regular season finale.
