ON TAP TODAY: A BUSY DAY WITH TRACK IN WYALUSING AND GAMES EVERYWHERE ELSE (2024-04-26)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A busy day around the area with Wyalusing hosting their Lasagna Invitational, and plenty of action on the diamond.

TRACK & FIELD

Wyalusing hosts Lasagna Invitational, 3 p.m.: Over 20 teams will be descend on Wyalusing today with all five area teams in attendance. It looks to be good weather throughout, with the meet expected to go deep into the night.


BASEBALL

Canton (9-3) at NEB (8-3), 4:30 p.m.: The last chance anybody in NTL Division-II has at taking down defining champs Canton. NEB and Canton both come in winners of three in a row.


Wyalusing (6-3) at Troy (8-2), 4:30 p.m.: Remains undefeated in divisional play and has moved up to second in the District IV, Class AA standings. The Rams are 5-1 in their last six games.


NP-Mansfield (8-4) at Towanda (3-8), 4:30 p.m.: The Knights won the first match-up way back in March with the Tigers going 2-3 in their last five games. 


SOFTBALL

Wyalusing (5-6) at Troy (7-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans recently completed the season sweep of Athens as they come in riding a 3-game win streak. The Rams are coming off a tough walk-off loss to Towanda after battling back to .500.


Canton (4-8) at NEB (5-5), 4:30 p.m.: After a 4-0 start the Panthers have gone 1-5 since. Canton has gone 3-2 over their last five games.


NP-Liberty (12-0) at Towanda (5-4), 4:30 p.m.: Corning is coming off a 6-5 win over state ranked Corning, while the Knights gave NPL a tough one back in March.
