NTL SOFTBALL: TROY FALLS TO NP-LIBERTY (2024-05-09)

EAST TROY — Troy finally finished their game with NP-Liberty, falling 14-1 during NTL softball action Thursday.

The game was suspended last week due to rain with NPL up 7-0 in the top of the third. Troy would cut it to 8-1 on a Marlee Stanton solo shot, and threatened in other innings, but couldn’t slow down the Mounties, who had 11 hits for their 14 runs.

The Mounties clinch their second straight league title with the win.

Stanton (2-for-3) hit her home run with 2-outs in the bottom of the fifth, taking an 0-1 pitch well over the centerfield fence.

Sydnee Bellows (1-for-3) and Lauren Ridall (1-for-3) had the other two Trojan hits.s

Ridall started, and finished the game, going three innings with two strikeouts, two walks, five hits, and eight runs scored. Olivia Champluvier pitched four innings through the middle of the game, striking out two with one walk, six hits, and six runs scored.

Troy (12-2) will travel to Sayre on Friday, then take the long trip to Midd-West for a double-header on Saturday.
