ON TAP TODAY: NTL CHAMPIONSHIPS HIGHLIGHT TODAY'S ACTION (2024-05-10)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A rainy day is expected but that won’t dampen the competition at the NTL Track and Field Championship meet today.

TRACK & FIELD

NTL Championships at Athens, 1:30 p.m.: The field events start at 1:30 p.m. with the track events slated to go off at 3 p.m. It’s suppose to rain most of the time but should get lighter as the day progresses.

BASEBALL

Wyalusing (13-5) at Canton (14-3), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors have a penchant for getting their games in despite the weather. The Rams are coming off a tough loss to Athens, while Canton is riding an 8-game win streak.

NP-Mansfield (11-6) at NEB (11-6), 4:30 p.m.: NEB is just behind Millville for the top seed in the District IV, Class A standings, though it may not matter if they’re the only teams in the playoffs. Both teams are coming off losses to Troy.

Troy (13-4) at Sayre (5-10), 4:30 p.m.: Troy is one win away from an NTL Division-I title as they’re also battling for a home playoff game.

SOFTBALL

NPL (15-0) at NEB (9-7), 4:30 p.m.: The Mounties clinched their second straight league title and are rolling towards the top seed in districts. The Panthers are battling for playoff positioning.

Troy (12-2) at Sayre (3-11), 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans will be looking to rebound with a win over Sayre as they work their way up the district standings.

Wyalusing (8-10) at Canton (4-12), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams have two games left and need two more wins to get into districts. A win here is a must.
