NTL BASEBALL: CANTON DROPS NON-LEAGUE CONTEST TO MONTOURSVILLE (2024-05-13)

MONTOURSVILLE — A close game got out of hand late as Canton fell to Montoursville, 9-0, during non-league baseball action Monday.

Montoursville led 3-0 after four when they had back to back 3-run innings in the fifth and sixth to pull away.

Canton had just three hits between Ben Fitch (1-for-3), Holden Ward (1-for-3), and Cohen Landis (1-for-3).

Mason Harold got the start, and took the loss, going 3 1/3-innings with four strikeouts, two walks, three hits, and three earned runs.

Hudson Ward went two-thirds of an inning with one hit, one walk, and two earned runs.

Reed Taylor tossed an inning with one walk, two hits, and three runs, two of which were earned. Landis then pitched an inning with two hits, and one unearned run.

Royce Bowes got the 3-hit shutout for Montoursville, going the distance with four strikeouts, and no walks.

Canton (14-5) will wrap up their regular season as they travel to Athens on Tuesday.
