ON TAP TODAY: A FEW GAMES ON THE FINAL DAY FOR BASEBALL REGULAR SEASON (2024-05-15)
Northern Tier Sports ReportA wet day but the final day for baseball games to count towards districts so expect them to do all they can to get the games in.
BASEBALL
Elk Lake at Wyalusing (14-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams come into today with a slight lead in the standings on Canton. A win here would give them a home game for the first round of districts.
NP-Mansfield (12-7) at NEB (11-7), 4:30 p.m.: NPM is coming off a 10-inning loss to South Williamsport, and needs a win to try and get back into the top four in the Class 3A standings. A win for NEB might be enough to get them the top spot in the district standings.
Towanda (6-12) at Wellsboro (7-11), 4:30 p.m.: Two teams looking to end the season on a high note. Towanda is riding a 2-game win streak, the Hornets are coming off a walk-off win over NEB.
SOFTBALL
NPL (15-0) at NEB (12-7), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers get their shot at undefeated NPL. NEB has a tenuous hold on the sixth seed of the district standings.
Troy (14-3) at Sayre (3-12), 4:30 p.m.: Troy is still ahead of CV despite the loss. A win against Sayre would help their cause, especially with Jersey Shore looming this Friday.
