NTL TRACK & FIELD: CANTON'S MCROBERTS EARNS DISTRICT MEDAL, CROWLEY REACHES 100 FINAL (2024-05-17)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Canton’s Daveian Crowley reached the 100 meter finals while teammate Alexis McRoberts earned a medal in the discus at the District IV Track and Field Championships Thursday.
Crowley ran 12.90 in the preliminary, then pulled out a 12.74 in the semifinals to reach the finals, which will be run this Saturday.
She’s the third seed going in, with NTL runners taking up the top four spots.
State qualifying for the 100 is a top two finish, or running 12.7, or better, along with finishing in the top 8.
McRoberts threw 99-feet, 5-inches to take seventh in the Class AA discus.
Also competing was Quincy Wesneski in the javelin. He threw 123-feet, 2-inches to take 20th.
The championships conclude on Saturday with a 9 a.m. start.
