AOW: NEB'S LAUDERMILCH, TROY'S WARBURTON, WYALUSING'S JOHNS POST BIG (2024-05-19)

Northern Tier Sports Report
There were more big performances this week than awards to recognize, either in track or field, or on the diamond, but a few were truly exemplary.

NEB’s Gracelyn Laudermilch could have been Athlete of the Week several times this year, but this past week she really showed off. The junior was a 4-time district medalist, 3-time state qualifier, and a repeat district champion in the 3200. The three events she qualified for states - 3200, 1600, and 800 - she did the three events all within four hours, earning her the Female Athlete of the Week.

The boys’ side features two districts champions - Troy’s Ben Warburton and Wyalusing’s Dylan Johns. Warburton jumped a career best 22-feet, 11 1/4-inches to win the district title in the long jump, while Johns cleared 6-foot, 3-inches on his last attempt to win the district title in the high jump, making both of them the Male Athletes of the Week.
