YOUTH: WINS FROM TOWANDA, NEB & WYALUSING WRESTLERS PACE PA YOUTH IN WIN OVER NY DURING DUALS ON DESMOND (2024-06-09)

SAYRE — Thanks to some big wins from wrestlers out of Towanda, NEB, and Wyalusing the PA Youth team defeated the NY squad, 60-43, during the inaugural Duals on Desmond exhibition Saturday.

Towanda’s three wrestlers - Jason Isbell, Landon Isbell, Cole Williams, and Cole Spencer - all notched wins along with NEB’s Quaid Martin and Wyalusing’s Brennen Minier.

Also getting wins for PA were Southern Tioga’s Bridger Lehman, Tyler Evans Jr., and Brooks Casselbury, along with Athens’ Liam Warner, Jacob Cobb, Charles Jennings, and Sophia Barrett. Williamson’s Brock Collum also notch a victory.

Jason Isbell scored a 1-0 decision over Owego’s Gavin Lovell as part of PA taking the first five matches.

After NY got their first win Landon Isbell, Williams, and Spencer nabbed back to back falls to keep things rolling for PA. Martin ended another 5-bout winning streak with a 6-2 decision.

Minier would end a NY 3-bout winning streak with a fall.

In the highlight match Canton’s Parker Hoover lost a tight 3-2 decision to Johnson City’s Angelique Santiago.
