YOUTH: CANTON MINORS SOFTBALL FALLS TO SOUTHERN TIOGA (2024-07-01)

CANTON — Southern Tioga used a 7-run second inning to pull away from Canton for a 14-4 win in four innings during District 15 Minors Softball All-star action Sunday.

The game was tied 1-1 after one when Southern jumped out to an 8-1 lead. They added four more runs in the bottom of the third to take a 12-1 advantage.

Canton rallied with three runs in the fourth, but Southern added two more in the bottom half for the win.

Parker Hoover (1-for-1) crossed home twice with Katy Fitzwater, and Leah Ross also scoring, as Maycee Walker (1-for-2) had an RBI. Dylilah Westbrook (1-for-1) also had a hit.

Ross started and went 2 1/3-innings with three strikeouts, while Kennedy Wilcox went the final two-thirds with one strikeout.
