LADY LIGHTNING BLUE GOES 1-1 ON FINAL DAY OF EYOTA TOURNAMENT (2024-07-08)

APPALACHIN, N.Y. — After going 2-1 on the first day of the Eyota Tournament the Lady Lightning Blue 16U went 1-1 on Sunday.

They opened with a 9-6 win over the Impact Panthers White as Hannah Berger (1-for-3) and Kiarra Delancey (2-for-3) each had home runs. DeLancey also had 3-RBI With two runs scored while Berger drove in two runs.


Brooke Seiger (1-for-2) had a double with a run scored as Ashlyn Neiley (2-for-2) drove in two runs with a run scored.


Kynlee Kunkle (2-for-2) scored twice with an RBI while Madi Lord (1-for-3) and Olivia Thompson (1-for-1) both scored. Savannah Persun (1-for-3) also had a hit, and pitched the first two innings. She struck out four with nine hits, two walks, and six earned runs.


Makenna Callear pitched the final two innings with three strikeouts, one walk, two hits, and no runs.


They lost the second to the NY Titans 18U Gold 7-2.


DeLancey (1-for-3) scored a run as Persun (1-for-3) drove one in. Lord scored their other run as Thompson had an RBI.


Kunkle (1-for-3), Berger (1-for-3), Neiley (1-for-2), and Gretchen Schmieg (1-for-2) each had hits.


Callear started and went 2 2/3-innings with four strikeouts, two walks, nine hits, and six runs, five of which were earned.


Persun tossed the final 2 1/3-innings with three strikeouts, one walk, one hit, and one unearned run.
