WAVERLY BOYS' HOOPS HOLDS THEIR ANNUAL CAMP (2024-07-14)

ATHENS — Waverly held their annual boys’ hoops camp last week with several area athletes partaking.

In the Division-III age group the team of Union won the team title behind Logan Swartwood, Weston Driscoll, Brennan Scott, Jase Sheeley, Aiden Thompson, Eli Leavenworth, Owen Riley, Branson Meyers, and Brody Payne. 


On the awards side Swartwood won the foul shooting competition, the 1-on-1 competition, the knock-out competition, and was named MVP.


The 3-on-3 champions were Tommy Thompson, Chase Faucett, and Hudson Gardener. Sawyer Tremaine was the hot shot champion, Wyatt Raupers earned the hustler award, Austin Briggs the most improved, and Will Schoonover the 1/2 camp scholarship.


The all-stars are Leavenworth, Westley Burgert, Clavin Mosher, Raupers, and Tremaine. On the defensive team are Sheeley and Owen Riley, while Silas Martin earned the best camper award.


The Division-II team champions were Bentley University, made up of Drew Croft, Jacob Gruss, Nolan Ferguson, Carlsen Hunt, Leon Fourie, James Cole, Gavin Harmer, and Michael Balawski.


Croft was named the MVP with the all-stars JT Morrell, Ryan Hicks, Harmer, Ian Johnston, Lincoln Thomas, and Dempsey Stevens. Colton McCauley and EJ Gliemi made the camp defensive team.


Harmer was the foul shooting champion, with the 3-on-3 champions Fourie, Ace Johnston, and Alexander Radzivachovich.


Croft and Lincoln Thomas were the 3-point champions, Colton McCauley was the hot shot champion, Croft was the 1-on-1 champion, Braylen Burchard earned the hustler award, Cole was the most improved, and Madden Correll earned the 1/2-camp scholarship.


Ryder Chamberlain got the Al Geppert Award for 4th-8th grades.


The Division-I team champions were Duke made up of a team of Tucker Human, Michael Sutryk, Jayden Morningstar, Boom Thompson, Cameron Riely, Clay Wilks, Magnus Wakely, Isaiah Matson-Adoo, Caden Vanderpool, and Gage Tinna.


Wilks was named the MVP with the all stars Landon Cole, Sam Cheresnosky, Keegan Stroud, Aiden Briggs, Sutryk, and Braiden Judson. Morgan Kone and Brock Carr made the camp defensive team.


Owen Millspaugh was named the foul shooting champion while the 3-on-3 champions were Griffin Mocai, Dom Merroti, Mitchell Gesford, and Darris Harrison.


Luke Vanloom and Merroti were the 3-point champions, Keegan Johnston was the hot shot champion, Evan Allen was the 1-on-1 champion, Graesyn Vaow earned the hustler award, Morningstar was named the most improved, and Tyrese Gamby earned the 1/2-camp scholarship.


The NTL team champions were the Knicks with a team of Ben Shaw, Thomas White, Keagan Zeller, Ben Fitch, Declan Barry, Dominic Robbins, Preston Harmer, and Caleb Malonske.


Fitch was named the MVP with the all-stars Hudson Trump, Zeller, Hogan Shaw, Xavier Watson, Spencer Martin, and Ben Shaw. Kolsen Keathley and Peter Jones were named the camp defensive team.


Hogan Shaw was the foul shooting champion, with Zeller, Michael Griffin, Carter Bleiler, and Moe Zinger the 3-on-3 champions.


Pryor Teribury and Mac Burgert were the 3-point champions, as Spencer Martin was the hot shot champion. Watson was the 1-on-1 champion, Chase Wheeler earned the hustler award, Zinger the most improved, with Ranson Schultz getting the 1/2-camp scholarship.
